Meet the Team​​​​​

Ivan D. Alvarez | President
Ivan is honored and excited to serve in the capacity of President this year. He works as a Bilingual School Psychologist for the Santa Barbara County Education Office. Ivan is assigned to the preschool team and bilingual assessments.

One of the positives of his role is that he is able to provide ongoing support to staff and our families for students transitioning from early start services to preschool (3-5).  

Ivan is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri at Columbia. He is looking forward to working with school psychologists and allied professionals throughout the county.
  1. Lea Behlman | President Elect
    Lea is as a School Psychologist for the Goleta Union Elementary School. Lea's assignment includes Mountain View Elementary and she provides support to students with intellectual disabilities Lea is passionate in serving special education children. She was previously a CASP Student Leader for her graduate program at California State University at Northridge.
  2. Elizabeth Salvador Geron | Treasurer
    Elizabeth is a Bilingual School Psychologist for the Lompoc Unified School District. She is assigned to Fillmore Elementary School and Lompoc High School. She assists students in the moderate/severe program. Elizabeth is a graduate of the school psychology program at California State University at Northridge. Elizabeth is passionate with working with bilingual students
  3. Yolanda Mejia | Secretary
    Yolanda is a School Psychologist for the Santa Barbara Unified School District. She is assigned to the Early Childhood Education Team. Yolanda is a graduate of the school psychology program at California State University Northridge. Yolanda was nominated by a district psychologist due to exceptional organizational skills, knowledge of Behavior Management Supports, bilingual assessments & experience in Early Childhood Education.
  4. Caroline Garcia | Past-President
    Caroline is humbled and honored to serve as Past-President this school year. Caroline is currently in her 7th year as a school psychologist with the Santa Barbara Unified School District. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
  5. Alex Serrano-Ramirez | Marketing Chair
    Alex is a Bilingual School Psychologist for the Goleta Union School District. She will be working at La Patera Elementary School. Her passion is to empower and support all students. She has previous experience working on the leadership board of VCASP and is looking forward to working on CCASP this year.
  6. Jennifer Connolly | SELPA Liaison
    Jennifer is the SELPA Liaison for CCASP. She currently serves as the Santa Barbara County SELPA Coordinator. She will be serving her second year in this capacity at CCASP. Jennifer has previous experience as a Resource Specialist and IEP Chair.
  7. Samira Amirazizi | Student Representative
    Samira is a doctoral student in school psychology at the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at UCSB. She attended Chapman University and majored in Psychology. Before coming to UCSB, Samira worked for Children's Bureau in their early intervention and prevention department with positive parenting education and case management services. Samira is passionate about early identification and intervention.
  8. Emily Edelman | Student Representative
    Emily is a doctoral student in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at UCSB. She received her BA in Psychology from Stanford University with a specialization in Health and Development track and a minor in Education. While in college, she served as a student leader of a math learning intervention to underserved preschool and kindergarten children. After college, she taught at a Palo Alto therapeutic day school.
  9. Elyse Naylor | Social Chair
    Elyse is a School Psychologist for Goleta Union School District. Elyse is passionate about educating and providing trauma-informed practices and supporting exceptional learners, teachers, and school communities. Elyse graduated with her BA from Ohio State and obtained her Ed.S. from the University of Denver. Elyse is looking forward to collaborating with other school psychologists and educational professionals throughout the county.
  10. Perla Navarro Lewis I Special Education Teacher Liaison
    Perla is an Education Specialist for Lompoc Unified. She currently teaches English at Lompoc High School. Perla is a graduate of Antioch University where she earned her Multiple Subject and Education Specialist Credentials and M.Ed. Her passion is serving and supporting underrepresented groups and providing them with equal opportunities. She enjoys volunteering on various committees and coalitions throughout S.B. County.
